&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.art21.org/artists/robert-mangold?utm_source=tumblr.com&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=Art21_Tumblr" target="_blank"&gt;Robert Mangold&lt;/a&gt;, our current &lt;em&gt;100 Artists&lt;/em&gt; featured artist, is seen here at work in his Washingtonville, New York studio in 2011. Mangold is seen creating work using a ring shape—a continuation of forms used in his previous works. Mangold’s first Ring painting appeared in 2008, and a series of Ring paintings were &lt;a href="http://www.pacegallery.com/newyork/exhibitions/11220/robert-mangold-ring-paintings" target="_blank"&gt;shown&lt;/a&gt; in Spring 2011 at The Pace Gallery’s 57th Street location in New York City.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This scene is featured in the &lt;em&gt;Art in the Twenty-First Century&lt;/em&gt; Season 6 episode, &lt;em&gt;Balance&lt;/em&gt; (2012).&lt;/p&gt;
